Company News >> Chinese, Japanese and Korean panel makers invest heavily in OLED who benefits the most? 2nd,Jan,2018
Chinese, Japanese and Korean panel makers invest heavily in OLED who benefits the most?
The panel makers of China, Japan and Korea are expected to compete in the OLED equipment in the next three years, and the Korean equipment industry will accept the benefits. AFP

South Korea and China's OLED investment has officially launched, and it is expected that Korean equipment manufacturers will greatly benefit. This is due to the large increase in the supply of LCD panels, resulting in price declines and worsening returns. Conversely, demand for OLEDs has increased, so panel manufacturers in both countries are competing to invest in OLED equipment.

According to Korean media ETnews, South Korea's Samsung Display and LG Display, as well as BOE and Xinli in mainland China, will officially invest in OLED equipment in 2016. It is expected that equipment manufacturers will accept benefits.

BORON, which has the largest movement, will deliver 6th generation OLED equipment in the first half of 2016, and is expected to enter mass production in 2017. Truly will also receive equipment from Korean operators and is expected to start production in 2017.

Samsung and Lejin Display, which are eager to open up the mainland, are also expected to expand their equipment, mainly to meet the demand for OLEDs required by mainland and US smartphone manufacturers.

After Samsung continues, Huawei and Apple will also be equipped with OLEDs on smartphones. In addition, the dashboards of the cars and the head-up display (Headup Display) providing information on the front of the driver's seat are also expected to be equipped with OLEDs. Outlook.

Samsung Display will release the equipment in Tangjing, Asan City, Chungcheongnam-do in 2016, and the LG Display will also announce the expansion of the equipment. Investing in OLEDs is equal to the opportunity for Korean equipment manufacturers to expand sales.

The OLED process is roughly divided into crystallization, evaporation, cleaning, packaging, and inspection (modular). The TFT substrate to which the glass substrate is made to pass current needs to undergo a crystallization heat treatment process, and the related Korean manufacturers include: Viatron, Tera Semicon, and Advanced Process Systems (AP Systems).

Among them, Viatron exclusively owns inline equipment, and its equipment supply accounts for a large part of Lejin display, so the expected performance will be improved. Samsung, which is supplied by Tera Semicon, accounts for a large part. The company also provides a lot of equipment to mainland panel makers.

The OLED evaporation process for coating substances on a substrate is maintained by SFA, Wonik IPS, Sntek, SNU, and the like. Among them, SFA has entered the mainland market by providing evaporation equipment for credit.

After the organic materials are evaporated, they need to pass through the packaging process of the protective substrate. Most of the equipment in this part is owned by the operators of other countries. Among them, the Wonik IPS is in the process of equipment development in order to enter this part of the market.

Jusung Engineering exclusively supplies equipment to Lejin Display, and Tes first provided thin film packaging equipment to Heguang Optoelectronics in China in 2015. In the final inspection of the quality, and in the modular process of testing, the equipment company included SFA, SNU, Korea Materials & Analysis (KMac) and Top Engineering.

The Korean media pointed out that OLEDs can be applied from smartphones, vehicles, TVs, etc., and the OLED investment in Japan and South Korea will be officially launched in the next three years, especially in flexible OLEDs that can be bent. Investing. Therefore, flexible OLED equipment manufacturers such as AP Systems, Tera Semicon, SFA, Viatron, and Dong A Eltek will likely benefit more.
